YU Nutrition Hydrate Review: Is This Electrolyte Powder Worth It?

Water Is Boring. There, I Said It.

I'll be honest. I'm terrible at drinking plain water. I know I'm supposed to drink more of it. My body knows I'm supposed to drink more of it. But after about three sips, I'm already looking for coffee. That's why I keep electrolyte powders around. Want to try YU Nutrition Hydrate? Save 25% with code CJB here.

The problem? Most of them taste like you licked a science experiment. So when YU Nutrition launched Hydrate, I was curious but skeptical. Then I tried it. And surprisingly, I actually liked it.

What Is YU Nutrition Hydrate?

YU Nutrition Hydrate is an electrolyte drink mix designed to support hydration without added sugar, artificial flavors, artificial colors, or artificial sweeteners.

It contains:

  • Sodium

  • Potassium

  • Magnesium

  • Calcium

  • Vitamin C

  • Zinc

  • Aloe Vera

At the time of this review, YU Nutrition Hydrate is available in:

  • Strawberry Lemonade

  • Lemon Lime

What Does YU Nutrition Hydrate Taste Like?

This is the part most people actually care about. The new Strawberry Lemonade flavor tastes like something I'd actually choose to drink. That's saying a lot because I normally don't enjoy electrolyte powders. The Lemon Lime flavor is available too, but Strawberry Lemonade is my personal favorite so far. If you've ever tried an electrolyte drink and immediately regretted your life choices, I get it. This one is much easier to drink.

Why I Use Electrolytes:

I don't drink electrolytes all day, every day. For me, they're most useful when:

  • It's ridiculously hot outside

  • I'm active

  • I'm traveling

  • Plain water just isn't happening

Sometimes drinking enough water is harder than it should be. Having something that tastes good makes it easier. My hubby though likes to drink one every day.

Is YU Nutrition Hydrate Worth The Price?

Retail price is around $50. With my discount and subscription option, the price drops to approximately $38.25. Depending on how often you use it, that can work out to around a dollar a serving or less. Some people use electrolytes daily. Others use them on workout days, travel days, or especially hot days. For me, the biggest factor is whether I'll actually drink it. A cheaper electrolyte isn't a better deal if it sits in the cabinet because it tastes terrible. Strawberry Lemonade vs Lemon Lime:

Both flavors contain the same hydration ingredients. The difference comes down to taste preference. If you're a fan of citrus flavors, Lemon Lime may be a good fit. If you prefer something sweeter and more refreshing, Strawberry Lemonade is my pick. Personally, Strawberry Lemonade is the flavor I'll be reordering.

My Final Thoughts:

If you're looking for an electrolyte powder that supports hydration and actually tastes good, YU Nutrition Hydrate is worth a look. What surprised me most wasn't the ingredient list. It was the fact that I actually wanted to drink it. And if you're someone who struggles to drink plain water like I do, that's probably the most important part.

Why I Chose YU Hydrate:

When I started comparing ingredients, calories, and sugar content, this is where YU Hydrate stood out for me. It's not just about flavor. I liked that it has zero added sugar, fewer calories, and additional ingredients like calcium and magnesium. Plus, unlike some electrolyte drinks I've tried, my stomach didn't immediately file a formal complaint. 😆
